Banjo Catfish

£4.99

Banjo Catfish Bunocephalus coracoideus is a nocturnal scavenger whose unique appearance and smaller size help with its popularity. An extremely hardy South American fish, it is known as the Guitarrita fish in its native Peru. The Banjo Catfish has a large, rounded head and body that becomes slender as it extends toward the tail, thus a “banjo” shape. With its maximum size being around 4 inches, it will not bother other fish and spends much of its time in the shadows and overhangs of the aquarium. Equally fine kept singly or in groups, the Banjo Catfish is tolerant of most water conditions. Do not despair if this fish has not made its presence known for a period of time. It will likely emerge soon as it does tend to hide. A varied diet of Bloodworms, Tubifex Worms, and sinking pellet foods fed just prior to lights-out will help the Banjo Cat retain its best health.

Usual adult size 15cm
